A Celebration of National Pride: The Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day Ceremony in Meruya
West Jakarta – To commemorate the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, students and teachers held a solemn yet spirited flag-raising ceremony on Friday, August 14, 2026. The event took place in the school courtyard in the Meruya area of West Jakarta. The program was organized to instill a sense of nationalism and patriotism, as well as to foster discipline and courage in the students from an early age.
The ceremony was attended by all students, who looked elegant in red-and-white attire, while the student officials wore their ceremonial uniforms complete with sashes and *peci* caps. Acting as the ceremonial team, these young students efficiently carried out their respective duties—ranging from the flag bearer and the flag-raising team to the text reader and the ceremony commander. Teachers and educators supervised and guided the proceedings to ensure the entire event ran smoothly and in an orderly fashion.
An atmosphere of emotion and pride filled the venue as the *Sang Saka Merah Putih* (the national flag) was successfully raised, accompanied by a salute from all participants. The event concluded with a group photo session featuring students, teachers, and the ceremonial team in front of a banner reading "Dirgahayu Republik Indonesia" (Long Live the Republic of Indonesia). Through this ceremony, the children not only learned to honor the sacrifices of national heroes but were also taught the importance of cooperation, self-confidence, and togetherness in upholding the spirit of Indonesia's independence.
